Breitling Watches Get Free TV coverage on ITV4

Andrew Flintoff or Freddie to cricket fans all over the world was one of the great names in recent cricketing history. His aggressive bowling, cavalier batting and peddle low antics has turned him into a brand of his own. Since he hung up his spikes he has been seen commentating darts and captaining a team on Sky One’s “A league of their own”.

Now for 2011 Freddie has his own show on ITV4 “Freddie Flintoff Vs The World” he is now taking on crazy daredevil challenges that push him and his celebrity friends to the limit. So with daredevil stunts and near death experiences all the way the Swiss watch company Breitling seem to have pulled off a something of an advertising coo capturing the wrist of the intrepid fearless Freddie and his personal trainer as seen in the picture. Freddie has been sporting the Swiss watch company’s Navitimer, a watch originally used by pilots, whilst in the picture you can see below his trainer also has one of these fine Swiss watches on the Breitling Chronomat. Now knowing watch companies as I do I don’t believe they will have even noticed this fact let alone thought of this as a great way to promote their Swiss watch brand. But I can tell you as soon as they work it out they will be claiming ti as their PR stunt to show they are the mens watch company for 2011.

Emporio Armani Mens Watches For Christmas 2010

New Rubber Armani Sports watch

So it is that time again summer has been and gone and winter is most definitely upon us. The UK is gripped by winter with snow and ice bringing the UK to a stand still, so with everyone stuck in doors trying to keep out of the treacherous conditions outside the last thing on anyone’s mind is heading down the high street to have a look a the range of watches available this year. Thankfully the internet is there to take the strain and make the shopping experience a lot easier for everyone and definitely a lot warmer.

The internet is such a massive resource, and with so many companies offering all sorts of men’s timepieces for sale it is hard to find the right brand to look at, never mind the right one to buy for a Christmas present this year. With so many companies selling watches online, trawling through all of these online watch retailers could be a job in itself. So here are a few of the best new Emporio Armani watches in the UK for Christmas 2010.

The Emporio Armani watch brand is much like the Emporio Armani clothes label it is a brand that is aspired to and is aspiration in itself although the price point of many of these men’s watches is much less than people would think.

Men's Black Armani Watch

Looking for a watch on a leather strap then there are a lot of new Emporio Armani men’s watches that will be perfect with the likes of the AR0428 and the AR0429 2 of the picks of the bunch and both of these are less than £200.
If it is sports look then Armani watches have great this style as well, looking for a black dial chronograph watch then the AR0585 is a great watch. Looking for a white dial sports watch then the AR5859 is a great watch part of a new collection that has been launched by Emporio Armani this year.

The big styles of the year from Emporio Armani are their new collection of ceramic watches. The Ceramica range has changed the way in which Armani watches are viewed, for years the Armani label has been synonymous with high end couture fashion, this year’s ceramic watch collection adds this couture material to their range. The styles that have really made the Ceramica collection popular are the new sports chronographs the AR1400 and the AR1403, both black and white watches have been really popular in fashion watches. The launch of the ceramic collection by Emporio Armani is now making coloured watches popular in the prestige watch market. The best thing about these 2 styles is that although they are just under £500 which is a very high price for Emporio Armani watches, these watches are less than half the price of their competitors such as Rado and Channel J12.

Men love watches just as much as women love shoes and these watches are definitely some of the top watches available this year.

Timex Expeditions Are Watches For All Seasons

IN THE age of discovery, explorers were saddled with sextants, compasses, thermometers and barometers to navigate their way into uncharted territory. These days things are a lot easier. Not only is our path mapped out for us by GPS, rather than the stars, but clever watchmakers have also crammed all the essential navigation tools into a few grams of plastic, metal and glass.

Perhaps if Scott of the Antarctic had had the benefit of a timepiece such as a Timex Expedition, he would have beaten the Norwegians to the South Pole. And, just think how many days Phileas Fogg could have shaved off his epic journey with the advantage of an altimeter - which measures altitude - temperature gauge and weather report on his wrist to plan ahead. There are scores of watches aimed at the adventurer on the market but perhaps non which can boast everything needed for a major expedition while still looking cool, except the Timex Expedition range. At the top of the range is the WS4 which retails at around £120 (US$195), although there are other more affordable Expedition options that should still get you through your adventure.

It's difficult to fault the WS4, although it will only be truly enjoyed by people with a sense of adventure or a passion for gadgetry. Despite being crammed with features the screen is uncluttered and easy to read with reasonably large digits. Perhaps more importantly, it costs less than half the price of some of the competition in the outdoor market.

It is also lightweight, 50 metre water resistant, features an Indiglo night-light and comes in six colour formats including a sleek black number and yellow with black trim. Some serious adventurers may see the relatively low price as an indicator that this is really a watch for city dwellers with a mere whimsical desire to be more adventurous. But anyone who questions the ability of the Timex Expedition to perform under the extremist of extreme conditions need look no further than the investigations of Conrad Anker. The American rock climber, mountaineer and author of Environmental Activist, has spent his climbing career in some of the toughest terrain on earth in Alaska, Antarctica and Patagonia.
He recently tested the WS4 on an attempt to climb a 6330-metre peak in the Himalayas and, although sceptics may argue that he could have been motivated by a fat cheque from Timex, his findings gave a fairly glowing report on the watch. At night he used the watch's Review Mode to check his party's accumulated altitude, scan the barometer and even check the exposure of the camp. The compass also allowed him to align his transmitter with an orbiting satellite, allowing him to use a satellite phone. Meanwhile, the barometer showed drops in pressure which indicated an impending storm and he and his colleagues were able to stay low to avoid the worst of it. In fact, Anker's only criticism of the watch was that the buttons weren't as heavy duty as they should have been for that environment. But Timex responded and his suggestions for improvement were incorporated into the final design.

It may be that you will never be in such dangerous situations as the likes of Anker, and perhaps a ramble through the countryside is as adventurous as you get. But anyone who enjoys their days in the great outdoors would be hard pressed to find a more useful watch at such value for money than the WS4. And, it certainly makes telling the time more fun.

Tissot the mens watch manufacturer Revitalises the V8 watch series

2010 has been a year of change at the Swiss watch manufacturer Tissot, finally Tissot watches have  cemented their place as a big player in the sports watch market with the launch of the new T-Touch Expert, the next stage of evolution for the T-Touch watch series. As well as this, Tissot have also upgraded the original T-Touch series making the original T-Touch even more appealing as a sports watch.

However, one of the biggest changes in the Tissot design studios was the re-launch of the V8. The V8 is a watch that was first launched in the UK over 5 years ago,  it was believed at the time that the bold size and design of the V8 would make this sports watch a firm favourite amongst Tissot and sports watch customers alike. Although the V8 style was received well by retailers, once the range hit the shelves, it didn’t capture the consumers imagination and subsequently the range was cancelled in the UK in 2009.

But this was not the end of things for the Tissot V8 and its re-launch was not as awe inspiring as Tissot would have expected with many retailers staying away from the range after earlier experiences with the original V8 range. However, this reaction soon changed as Tissot invested hugely into promoting the new and improved style and look of the V8. The new black and blue dial configurations of the model hit a cord with consumer wants and needs and soon the range sold out with those retailers who had stocked this new designer watch from Tissot. Tissot had suddenly revitalised a watch that had, for all intense purposes, been on its way out of the range as a failed attempt at a men’s fashion watch. The clever use of colour and expansion of the collection to offer more than just three watches has been an overriding success. The only problem Tissot now face with this new designer watch, is keeping up with demand.

There is one particular V8 sports watches which has surpassed all of Tissot’s expectations and this is the T0394171105700. It has now become one of the most sought after Tissot watches of all time. Tissot have struggled to keep up with the peoples demand for the T0394171105700 which has thus only increased the peoples want for this particular model.

This Christmas Tissot are predicting that the V8 will become the watch to wear and the watch to give as a present to a loved one. However, due to problems with supplying for increased demand, it is hard to see how those who has wished for a V8 watch for Christmas will manage to get their hands on one.

Ceramica AR1400 A Watch Review

The AR1400 is part of the new Ceramica range of watches launched by the fashion watch company Emporio Armani. As the name tells you the Ceramica range is a watch range that has been created out of the material you would normally associate with expensive kitchens and in the watch industry the like of Chanel and Rado.

So the Ceramica is a Ceramic watch that is great but what does it look like on? What does it feel like to wear it? And what are the best ways to look after it? These are all the questions that need answered before you make a purchase. In the old days people would just go into a shop and try it on, but in a world of online shopping it is difficult to get all of this information without buying the watch first. There are a number of pictures of this Armani Sports watch that will help to make up your mind, these can be found along the side of this blog. There is a view of the watch with a T-Shirt and Jeans as well as a view of the watch on your wrist and a view of the watch with a suit, all of these views we hope will make it much easier for you to make a decision on this item.

Key facts about the Emporio Armani AR1400

The black Ceramic bracelet and case are hard wearing, and perfect for anyone who is looking for a black watch that will stay black for the life time of the watch. The Ceramic bracelet has removable links which can be removed to make the bracelet fit anyone’s wrist, this can be done easily by using a couple of tools and following the instructions in the instruction manual, all you need to do is follow the arrows which are engraved on the inside of the bracelet. Always remember to keep a hold of your spare links just in case you ever need them again. The main thing to avoid with a Ceramic watch is dropping the watch from a large height avoid this and you will enjoy your Ceramic watch for years to come.

Although the watch is Ceramic, both the case back of the watch and the butterfly clasp are both made of stainless steel. Along with this the buttons on the AR1400 and the winder is made from stainless steel but all have the Emporio Armani logo etched into them.

How to use your AR1400 sports watch

The AR1400 has chronograph functionality or to the layman it has a stop watch. This is easy to use once you know about how to use it:

1.       To start and stop the stop watch use the button found at the 2 O’clock position

2.       How the stopwatch dials work

a.       Unlike many sports watches the AR1400 has a second hand accumulator in the 6 O’clock

b.      Once the seconds dial travels round 60 seconds the second accumilator dial starts off counting each minute which passes. This dial is found at the 10 O’clock position

c.       The AR1400 will time to the nearest second and will time up to 60 minutes

3.       There is a third dial on this watch this is found at 2 O’clock position and is 24 hour accumilator which can be used to tell if it is before or after mid day.

Hamilton launches new watches for autumn 2010

Hamilton

Hamilton Logo

The great and the good from the watch-making world gathered at their spiritual home in March to chart the latest developments in the time-keeping market.

The vast Swiss exhibition, Basel World, brought together 1,915  designer watch and jewellery brands from 45 countries to showcase their wares to the world.

Across 160,000 square metres, Switzerland’s largest trade event provided business leaders and consumers with the chance to check out the pulse of an industry emerging from one of the toughest economic periods in decades.
Amid the optimism for the year ahead, the world’s behemoth watch brands took the opportunity to unveil their arsenal of new or re-released models that they hope will pull them back on track to the good times. One of the brands for the future is Hamilton. The former American watch brand is now owned by the Swiss giant Swatch group, who launched a number of new watches this year at Basel World. The Hamilton watch brand, have this year, expanded on wide range of sports watches and classic watches that they currently make such as the Jazzmaster and the classic Khaki range of watches. Key new additions to the Hamilton brand for 2010 are:

The summer kicks off with the launch of the Time Player, which its creators have dubbed “latitude and longitude with attitude.” The brilliantly-unique design comes straight from the world painted by Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey.  The Time Player is a sports watch for anyone with an insatiable habit of fiddling with gadgets. The limited edition model which is launched very soon really will make some of the most enthusiastic men’s watch fans sit up and take notice. Sliding panels each with their own clock face for different time zones can be endlessly slotted in all directions till your heart’s content.

Later this summer brings a re-working of a classic Hamilton watch concept the RailRoad. The brand’s birth can be traced back to the dawning of the age of railroad. Hamilton supplied pocket watches to the railway pioneers over a century ago to keep trains running punctually. To mark that heritage the company will launch a number of rail-related models. Among them are; the Hamilton RailRoad 9am Train which is based on the original design of pocket watches that consisted of a counter disk positioned at 9’o’clock. A more modern member of the Railroad family is the Midnight Train which has a face beset with winds of the track through the middle of the dial.

The Pulsomic celebrates the 40th anniversary of the day Hamilton changed the watch industry forever with the launch of the world’s first LED digital watch. Hamilton plays on the themes of science fiction and technological breakthrough by cleverly marrying sleek designed watches with a robust 1950s feel. This watch is powered by kinetic technology and is supported by 120 days of reserve power.

The Hamilton X-Landing watch has been created to show that alongside the well-documented role Hamilton played in the early days of American railways, the firm also has its roots deeply entrenched in aviation and its 1920s infancy. To recognise this strand of its historical DNA, the limited edition X-Landing watch incorporates a ‘top of descent’ function. Although this certainly adds novelty to the watch, the smart-but-simple function also serves a purpose and can practically by flying watch enthusiast and pilots alike even if the office desk is the only thing that the wearer pilots. It marks the position between cruise and descent phases for pilots but also the number of nautical miles before the final destination is reached. It may be of no use to non-fliers but, with 24 different time zones this is a sports watch that will does have a spirit of exploration, and should appeal to many people.
